Who fancies a ride on a submarine!
On the Atlantis Cozumel Submarine Experience you can enjoy a 40-minute journey along the incredible Southcoast of Cozumel on a real submarine, the Atlantis XII!
On the trip you will see the local marine wildlife including fish and coral reefs and you will even go past a real shipwreck when the submarine floats past a US Navy ship that sank! The ship was in service for almost 40 years working for the Mexican Navy when it helped on rescue missions and searched for illegal drugs shipments. After the ship finished service it was sunk on purpose in order to help marine life in the area by creating a new home and encouraging coral and marine-life growth on it on the seabed.
The submarine will then continue on its journey and will take you to the famous 'Cozumel Wall' which is an 1800-foot drop-off at the edge of the island.
The Atlantis XII Submarine has a capacity of 48 passengers and 3 crew and is an all electric submarine, which helps to reduce its ecological footprint. With 26 viewports as well as a large viewport at the bow, it offers plenty of space to enjoy the views of the underwater world!
It will take you to more than 100 feet deep and although the journey will only last for 40-minutes, the submarine has the capacity to stay underwater for 24-hours!
